Jump Log (Day 23): Trekking it.

Today was about making up lost time (and space). I needed to get some distance from the first wall so that I could try for another attempt at the galactic edge. I found my 8th ELW not too far down the path and several water worlds as well.

If there was ever a point at which I might say I have regrets it would be now. I chose to leave SOL on a test run in the Daydrinker.  She was not fully outfitted. Her max jump range is 34.29 LY when full. Kitted out, she would be extended to 35.59 LY full. That means on half a tank of fuel I could have easily made the 36 LY jump to the star nearest the Dryuae Aip Nebula (and neutron star). But that is not the case.

I am intent on visiting this star. But I will need to test fate to do it.  I have set my course for and I am traveling at maximum velocity of 2001c. It will be hours before I can make this jump... if I don't run out of fuel.

The nearest star that I can jump to is also out of reach at 36 LY. I am going to risk a long SC to get within jump range of the nearest star. I'll be making a jump out and jump back to this sector to burn some fuel.0151, 0152The nearest jump point to the Dryuae Aip Nebula and neutron star.
